What are Capture One styles? The Capture One style is defined as a combination of fore-made settings, which can be easily applied to photos. The main purpose of the Capture One styles is to ease the work of photo editing and make it automatic.

Among the new features and improvements in Capture One Pro 10.2 is the Styles & Presets tool, whose interface was reworked with V10.1, designed to optimize workflow by allowing styles and presets to be made to an image or multiple images with a single click. Additional highlights include improved support for layered PSD files and RAW processing of Fujifilm X-Trans files, new sharpening tools and an Output Proofing feature that lets photographers create “recipes” for saving a variety of different image setups based on image size, ICC profile, settings and other parameters.

Image editing in the Styles & Presets tool Capture One Pro 10.2 also has added support for a number of cameras and lenses, in addition to addressing and fixing crashes, hangs and other bugs for both Mac and Windows. Phase One will begin offering image adjustment presets for its Capture One Pro editing software. Presets will be sold in Styles Packs, each with 15 to 18 individual Styles. Each Style applies automatic adjustments to an image without touching parameters like white balance and exposure – Phase One emphasizes there's plenty of latitude for the user to adjust an image to taste before and after a Style is applied. Capture One version 10.1 or newer is recommended for the best user experience. Version 10.1.2 is necessary for Capture One Express (for Sony) users. I'm late to this, unfortunately, as I think there's considerable misunderstanding of the potential value of presets. Although I do agree the price should be lower, so that more could have the advantage. Capture One is most of all about subtlety, and this doesn't finish with the original results that many appreciate. If you try on some of their excellent video lessons from differing professionals, you can get a real sense of the value in color grading, as an approach. You go for the best base image you can, of course. But then, the ability to quickly scan through a wide group of presets often can really show something. I think the key is that these presets aren't simple color washes.
