Guard Door Station Mkii Manual

Posted on  by  admin

We presently have a requirement for a Door Station for our office. At the gate a station for truck drivers / couriers / visitors to push a button and the phones ring inside the office or go to a mobile etc. We run TrixBox, so no problems with the phones / external diversion part. The Door Station would best come with SIP built in, then it would easily integrate with TrixBox (no ATA required). These are the only units I could find, they are $592 incl GST.

I have searched a lot, both on WP and internet without finding anything, so before we go off and purchase, I was hoping someone here may have a alternative they have used? (there was one thread on Dallas Delta traditional door station via an ATA from 2005 but nothing since). There are heaps of options Thanks, but we really want SIP integrated and purchase in Australia (yeap forgot to add that in my OP, sorry). The first 2 of your links are not SIP (as far as I can see), and the other 2 don't have distributors in Australia, nor could I google / shopbot / etc the products as being for sale here. But that old WP post you dug up was interesting, made me think about the hotline option on offhook. Regardless need a weather proof style box with one button really, and don't want an ATA or another FXS port. Thanks for trying to help anyway Newcopia.

We use the POTS dallas delta Guard doorstation Mk II units – paid about $700 each. Given it's so rare for VoIP to be cheaper than POTS, either boofh got an amazing quote or we got ripped off. They are a rather impressive unit, stainless steel, weatherproof and a relay for unlocking the door or boom gate, which is activated by DMTF tones (at least on the POTS unit). Of half a dozen units we've only had one problematic one which would keep dialling when it rained.

A single button activates a speed dial (which can be diverted on the phone system as required). Usually you pay significantly for weather proof and vandal proof units, if it's indoor I'd look at other options. This is an old thread, anyway to report back, we ended up using a Siemens Gigaset HC450 (well actually we ended up using over 50 of them over time). They link (DECT) to any Siemens Gigaset IP base station, and though it's not a standalone IP solution, when coupled with the C470IP for example, it then is a IP door station. They work really well, had some outdoors in direct sun and rain for over 4 years now in QLD. Here's a more recent thread. Any now for the big let down, we can't seem to get them anymore, think Siemens discontinued them even though the web site lists them.

Channel Vision Door Station

I had some standard door phoens connected to Patton ATAs. Worked well connected to Avaya system. Could even open the door of interstate offices if requreid! I was thinking it would probably be cheaper (if not better) to have analogue intercoms and video go to some kind of dvr/SIP box.

Certainly better if you already have an analogue intercom and one or more analogue video cameras. How do you go about setting it up? I assume you need some kind of analogue to digital voice/video converter box that is SIP/VoIP enabled. What I'd like is for my house to call my mobile phone (VoIP) when someone rings the front door bell. How do you go about setting it up? What I'd like is for my house to call my mobile phone (VoIP) when someone rings the front door bell. You just use an ATA connected to a standard Door station. I have used Minatar's before with Dallas Delta door station hooked up to a asterisk extension. If you want it stand alone then you configure a VSP with the ATA and the Door station rings a preprogrammed number.

You set the number it calls from a key pad normally behind the station, the call will then go out via the VSP. To open doors, once you receive the call you use DTMF commands to open the door striker solenoid.

Video won't work. It's much better using a proper IP Door station.
